The ZOW SPORTS ENGINE drives a variety of stop-action and non-stop-action games.
Ever listen to a ball game on the radio and
find yourself shouting out what the Quarterback, Pitcher, Goalie or others
should be doing but nobody hears you?
Welcome to ZOW and our virtual sports engine.
Now you can hear everything from imaginary games to real games but this time not
only will you be heard when you shout into your phone, you’ll be listened to and
the action will shape itself according to your instruction!
Callers are pitted in the center of the action in a fully theatrical environment creating the "look and feel" of really being there. Callers encounter "thinking" Virtual Performers who play with and against them during the sporting event.
Callers are challenged to shout out critical
decisions at every moment in the action. Each “game” lasts from three to five
minutes and no two calls ever sound the same. If the caller hangs up in the
middle of the game, no problem, just call back and he’ll be exactly where he
left off.
Callers with more sophisticated phones can
receive MMS or “video” that enhances the game experience.
The Caller hears himself standing on the mound
as the team pitcher. He chooses from a variety of pitches and then "places" the
pitch. Not with time consuming and boring button pushing but with his own voice
and spirit over the phone! Drift and fatigue become key factors for the pitcher
to keep in mind. If he needs guidance he can call “Timeout” and the pitching
coach will meet him on the mound with some advice.
The more he plays, the better he’ll be. This is
a game of skill and not luck. Each batter, in fact each player in the field and
even the caller himself are algorithms constantly changing becoming tougher and
smarter with each game!
If there are two Callers they can each choose a team and pitch their own inning
until the end of the game. Each Caller plays "his inning" and then the other
player is notified of the results. His friend then pitches "his inning".
Stats, awards and prizes can be notified to
players directly to their phone or posted on a website.
Example - Soccer
You are the be-all and end-all of your favorite soccer team. As you listen to the sportscaster announce the action on the field, the game will unfold before you. At every crucial interval you will be making the key decisions in the play of the game. The Caller is always where the action is - with the ball - and that's where he will be making those crucial decisions either on offense or defense.
